Fashion shows, events, cocktail parties, but also performances, meetings and exhibitions: Milan Fashion Week opens, as always, with a jam-packed programme. From today, the eyes of the international press will be on Milan, and thousands of people from all over the world, fashion professionals and others, will take part in this event where research, creativity, style, experimentation and taste for beauty are expressed to the full.
This is not only a see-and-be-seen occasion, however. Beneath its apparent frivolity, Fashion Week should not be underestimated: it demonstrates that Milan is still a world fashion capital, a place where “things happen”, a showcase for Made in Italy that attracts international attention.
That is not all: this great event reminds us that the fashion industry is a driving force of the Italian economy and above all an exceptional form of expression for our creative and entrepreneurial talent, our unparalleled ability to create objects, and dreams, that the whole world desires. And envies.
